I love my iPhone SE, and I'm planning to keep it until it is absolutely no longer usable. I realize that I'll eventually have to replace it, either due to hardware failure or when Apple ceases to offer security updates. (The latter I feel is really bad form and much more likely to be the reason I part with my SE than hardware failure. However, I understand Apple cannot support a device forever, and the company needs to sell more phones to make the shareholders happy.) As such, I’ve been thinking about what I would like to see in the next iPhone SE, if there is one. It’s actually pretty simple; this exact form factor, except all screen.
You see, I adore the SE's iconic design, as well as the way that my SE fits perfectly in one hand. The iPhone 6, 6S, 7, 8, X, Xs, and 11 all feel just a bit too big. I love the fact that my thumb can easily reach every part of the SE's screen. I love that my SE feels secure in my hand. I absolutely love the build quality. An aluminum back is much better (and stronger) in my opinion than a glass back. I mostly like iOS. (iOS 13 is still a little buggy, and Siri could still use a little work.) In my opinion, a slightly bigger screen in the same overall form factor as the current SE would be ideal. Oh, and if the price was right (i.e. less than $400), well that would just be icing on the cake.
I'm not sure if another SE is in the cards, but if so, this is simply a humble suggestion from a fan of the current SE.
Regards,
Steve
